My Dad,
Dad you are and always will be close to my heart,i miss you so much, and long for you to still be here with us,your illness came as a huge shock to us all, they told us you had Multiple Leisions on the brain, but primarily Lung Cancer, the word we all dreaded to hear, the day was 2nd April 2002.
They said you had possibly six to nine months to live, they asked us did we wish to tell you,but Dad we were crying so hard, because we didnt know how,so the Dr told you for us.
You never mentioned the cancer to us,but you kept smiling and never made a fuss, but i know you cryed when we were not around to see you, because you knew it would break our hearts to see you that way.
You had a bad chest infection, and the gp,said he could treat it with pills at home,or you could go into hospital and be treated there, you chose hospital, and sadly a week to the day of you going in you fell asleep early hours of the 27th July 2002.
Dad,I will never ever forget, your smiling face, your cuddly arms, and your happy go lucky ways,I will never forget the good times we had,and the rough times as a family we shared, but you was always our rock, the one we could turn too,not only a wonderful Dad,but a Grandad and Great Grandad too.
But I know you are watching over them all,and are their Guardian Angel,I miss you so so very much Dad,God Bless You Always,
Your Loving Daughter Linda xxxxxxxxx

Dad.

He left us quietly,
His thoughts unknown,
But left us a memory,
We are proud to own;
So treasure him Lord,
In Your garden of rest,
For when on earth,
He was one of the best.

Dad.

His helping hand was always first to render any aid he could. His voice was always raised in praise; his words were wise and good. Dear father, since you've gone away, the ones you loved so true, try hard to carry on the way, we know you'd want us to.

Dad.

Dad is such a special word,
A word that brings to mind,
A big warm smile, a helping hand,
A way of being kind,
Devotion to the family,
A word of patience too,
"Dad" is such a special word,
Because it stands for "you".

Dad.

Dad is gone but not forgotten,
And, as dawns another year,
In lonely hours of thinking,
Thoughts of him are always near.
Many think the wound is healed,
But little they know the sorrow,
That lies in the heart concealed

Dad.

If we had all the world to give,
We'd give it, yes, and more,
To hear his voice, see his smile,
And greet him at the door.
But all we can do, dear Dad,
Is go and tend your grave,
And leave behind tokens of love,
To the best Dad God made.

Dad.

We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name,
But all we have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your resting place we visit,
And put flowers there with care,
But no one knows the heartache,
As we turn and leave you there.

Dad.

What we'd give if we could say,
Hello, Dad, in the same old way;
To hear your voice, and see your smile,
To sit with you and chat awhile,
So if you who have a father,
Cherish him with care,
For you'll never know the heartache,
Till you see his vacant chair.
